ValueClick Acquires Greystripe

ValueClick Acquiring Mobile Ad Network Greystripe

ValueClick Acquires GreystripeValueClick is going to be the first of the traditional web advertising networks to move into the mobile space with an acquisition of Greystripe for $75 million in cash.

Greystripe serves rich media advertising to over 30 million users of smartphones and other touch-screen devices across all major mobile platforms. This will give ValueClick a good opportunity to compete with Google and Apple which both have strong presences in the space with Google’s acquisition of AdMob in 2009 and Apple’s acquisition of Quattro Wireless in 2010, and should offer mobile publishers greater competition.
