Google acquires DoubleClick

Google has reportedly spent $3.1 Billion to acquire DoubleClick in order to gain control and access of their ad serving solution and most importantly their long established and large network of clients. This gives Google a great ad serving platform, but most importantly for them keeps these clients away from Microsoft who were also bidding on DoubleClick and are launching their own advertising products.
